About Associated Realty of the Americas
Associated Realty of the Americas (AREA) is a consortium of real estate professionals from the western United States, Canada, Europe and elsewhere, who have banded together to provide exceptional properties for both investment and residential uses to the world market. Begun in Arizona by FIABCI member Carl Bosse of Green Valley, Arizona, the organization is a cooperative where real estate professionals can share information and support one another in providing an entirely new method of marketing their products and services. AREA is involved in five disciplines:
- Residential Real Estate
- Commercial Investments
- Business Brokerage
- Asset Management
Residential Real Estate
On the residential side, our clients will be dealing with the the crème de la crème of real estate professionals who are among the most honored and successful agents in their respective communities. They range from boutique brokerage firms such as the Fine Team in Park City, Utah, to Scott Piercy and Jim Lablanc of Sotheby’s in Victoria, British Columbia; to world renowned real estate professionals such as Karen Nevius of Nevius International in Las Vegas, NV., and Ursula Morel of Whistler, B.C.. (Both of those ladies are members of FIABCI and Ursula is a board member of FIABCI Canada.) In between in each location from Calgary to Tubac you will be aligned with exactly the right agent for that community.
On the Commercial side, AREA has teamed with a wonderful group of commercial brokers each of whom provides, deep, insightful knowledge of the commercial opportunities within their area. In Vancouver, Bruce Sheldon of Royal LePage is also the 2009 president elect of the Association of Western Commercial Brokers. In Reno-Tahoe, we are represented by Tyler Clay, who is also the 2008-09 president of the United States chapter of FIABCI. Another FIABCI member, William Wiggins, senior vice president in charge of commercial brokerage for Coldwell Banker in Denver, also graces our roster of members. These brokers also provide access to both business brokerage and asset management in their communities.
Our land associates include the President of the National Association of Realtors (NRA) Land Institute, Michael Landreth, whose team includes some of the top members from Canada and the western U. S. states.
Our overall team of international specialists includes several members of FIABCI. Their responsibility is to promote and explain our products and who we are, to represent the foreign buyer in the transaction, and to assist us as we develop sources of institutional and private investors. In Germany they are directed by associate, Ernst Olschowka of Hamburg. He is a person of many talents and interests, among those is sharing Germany with the world.
The Operations Team
At the core of AREA’s operations are key members who play a pivotal role in providing the coordination necessary for the association to work.

He was part of the original team that developed the first industrial Park in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico which ultimately became the standard for how foreign ownership through trusts is obtained in Mexico. He moved to Green Valley, Arizona (20 miles south of Tucson) in the mid 70’s where he worked in managing and developing residential and commercial properties. Among those is America’s only accredited continuing care retirement community (La Posada) where he was involved in both the development and marketing; and Madera Reserve a 400 acre, high end residential development in which he partnered with Diamond Ventures of Tucson. We are honored to be one of the few clients who qualify for this prestigious recognition by one of the very best professional agencies in the Southwest.

From time to time, for friends or good business partners, Ernst will play some soulful - jazzy piano and then break into Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
