With 30 years of real estate experience in the commercial, investment and development fields, Mark has assisted a wide range of public and privately-held companies, including Frito-Lay, The Boeing Company and the GSA, as well as non-profit organizations, in providing well over over 1-million square feet of commercial and industrial space to tenants.
Mark began his real estate career with Trammell Crow Company as leasing agent for Charlotte, NC, where he became one of the companies top achievers through pulling together a 390,000 SF build-to-suit lease with IBM. Later, he joined The Neenan Company, where, through a variety of leadership roles over a twelve year period, he gained a deep understanding of the architecture, construction, lean building and project finance.
Today, Mark's primary focus in Colorado is Tenant Representation, allowing him to apply his decades of commercial real estate experience in the service of entreprenuers and business owners needing industrial, office and flex space. In addition to his leasing expertise, he is a seasoned and skilled investment broker, particularly in the areas of Tax Deferred Exhanges and Colorado Water Rights.
Mark has assisted hundreds of 1031 Exchangers in finding and securing replacement properties to responsibly defer tax liabilities while creating hassle-free, reliable cash flow from income-producing real property. Mark's expertise includes the acquisition of Net-Lease Properties, Apartments and Fractional-Deed Co-Ownership Opportunities. He also understands the close relationship to water and land development, and making him a valuable broker/advisor in the acquisition and sale of water rights.
Mark holds an MBA degree from the Colgate Darden School at the University of Virginia and a BS Degree from the University of Missouri. He is a graduate of Authentic Leadership Program at Naropa University, and has done advanced studies in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. Mark is an active member of the Boulder Area Realtor Association, the Denver Metro Commercial Association of Brokers and the Commercial Brokers of Boulder. He is a former U.S. Marine infantry officer, having attained the rank of Captain during his six years of service. He is a graduate of the Leadership Fort Collins Class and served on the City of Fort Collins Water Board for four years. For relaxation he enjoys hiking, yoga, dancing, and a wide range of reading.
